ITINERARY - DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1 : KATHMANDU
Upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International airport you will be met by an India Safaris & Tours representative and transferred to a city hotel. One overnight at city hotel in a twin bedded room with en suite facilities. Accommodation is on room only basis. Day 2 : KATHMANDU - LUKLA - PHAKDING (2652m). Early this morning you will be transferred to the domestic airport for your flight to Lukla (2880m) .Upon arrival, meet the Sherpa team ,while the team assembles the equipment for the distribution to the porters. The trek this day is a very easy one and ultimately descends to the river at Phakding where we stay overnight. One overnight in tents with all meals included. Day 3 : PHAKDING / NAMCHE BAZAAR (3447 m). Leave the main village and follow the trail on the left bank of the Dudh Kosi River. Just before lunch, there is a steep climb of about 20 minutes to arrive at Monjo for lunch. After lunch, trek up to the check post to check the permits and enter into the Sagarmatha National Park. Pass through several small villages and beautiful pine forest. Later Arrive at Namche Bazaar. Two overnights in tents at Namche Bazaar with all meals included. Day 4 : REST AND ACCLIIMATIZATION AT NAMCHE The day is free to go around the bustling Bazaar or rest. Day 5 : NAMCHE BAZAAR / THYANGBOCHE (3860 m) The day is spent climbing slowly on a steep trail to the Thyangboche Monastery and one of the most beautiful spots on earth. Thyangboche lies at the base of Kang Tega and is a classic setting with superb views back up the valley to Ama Dablam, and the Everest poking its south west face over the huge ridgeline linking Nuptse and Lhotse. At the rear is the beautiful west face of the Tamserku (6608m) and Kang Tega (6685m). One overnight in tents at Thyangboche with all meals included. Day 6 : THYANBOCHE / PERICHE (4220 m.) After breakfast, set out on the trail with a short, steep and muddy descent through a forest of birch, conifer and rhododendron to the meadows of Devouche. A further 40 minutes of walking brings us to the upper Pangboche Village from where there is a very steep climb to the ridge before descending to Khumbu Khola. Cross the wooden bridge, and from there it is a 10 minute walk, usually in fierce winds to the windswept valley of Pheriche. Two overnights in tent at Periche with all meals included. Day 7 : PHERICHE (4220m) - ACCLIMATIZATION DAY. It is highly recommended to have a rest day to acclimatize at this altitude before starting an ascent. Day 8 : PHERICHE / LOBUCHE (4910 m) On the way you can watch the beautiful view of the Mt. Cholatese (6442m) back on the west side of the route and Mt. Ama Dablam to the rear. After arriving at the ridge, descend for about ten minutes, cross a bridge and arrive at Thugla for an early lunch. The stark and the rugged beauty create almost a moonscape. You will arrive at Lobuche after steady trekking.Lobuche is suitated in a wind swept valley with the enchanting views of the Tawatse (6501m) and Nuptse (7855m). One overnight in tent at Lobuche with all meals included. Day 9 : LOBUCHE / GORAK SHEP (5160m) / KALA PATHAR (5545 m) . From Lobuche, a short climb brings one to another valley. Travel along the Khumbu Glacier through the jumbled moraines and scattered rocks. The trail goes up and down of small moraines and on a clear day Mt. Everest can be seen looming behind Nuptse. After a quick lunch and some rest start the trip towards Kala Pathar; head straight up the hill to Kala Pattar (5545m) for views of Mt. Everest. Later return to Gorak Shep. Two overnights in tent at GorakShep with all meals included Day 10 : DAY TRIP TO EVEREST BASE CAMP AND BACK (5360m). Travel along the jumbled moraines and scattered rocks passing by the memorials of Rob Hall and Yasuko Namba and others who perished during the Mt. Everest disaster of 1996. The trail continues on a ridge from where a small glimpse of Mt. Everest can be seen. The Everest Base Camp is also the site for the base camp for Lhotse and Nuptse. . However the highlight of the trip to this place is the sight of the Khumbu icefall. Later return to Gorak Shep for dinner and overnight Camp. Day11 : GORAKSHEP / DINGBOCHE (4350 m). After breakfast set out backtracking to return to Lobuche. Cross the stream and then head towards the Sherpa Memorial and then to Thugla. A climb over the ridge past Chortens and Mani walls brings us into the Chukung valley and the prosperous village of Dingboche. This village with their own irrigation scheme is probably the only place where crops are grown at such a high altitude. One overnight in tent at Dingboche with all meals included Day 12 : DINGBOCHE / THYANGBOCHE (3867m) Having been consistently at high altitude above 4200m most trekkers welcome the thought of returning to warmer, softer climbs and the days walk to Thyangboche is a delightful way of doing so. One overnight in tent at Thyangboche with all meals included Day 13 : THYANGBOCHE / NAMCHE BAZAAR Today start the trek towards Namche by following the path round the eastern flanks of the hills. At the rear is the beautiful west face of the Thamserku (6608m) and Kang Taiga (6685m). One overnight in tent at Namche Bazaar with all meals included. Day 14 : NAMCHE BAZAAR / LUKLA From Namche, head to the end of the village and then immediately start to descend to the river. From Phakding, it is a surprising hard uphill climb to Lukla. It is a delightful ending to the trip as one enters into this busy village of Lukla. Upon arrival check into the lodge. One overnight in a lodge at Lukla with all meals included Day 15 : FLY BACK TO KATHMANDU Early morning, fly from Lukla to Katmandu in a twin Otter. Upon arrival, you will be assisted and transferred to a city hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure. One overnight at a city hotel in a twin bedded room with ensuite facilities.Your stay is on room only. Day 16 : DEPART KATHMANDU Transfer to the Tribhuvan International airport for flight back home. Our services end at 12 noon today.
