Srinagar is a city with a beautiful scenic Himalayan backdrop, simmering lakes that are rimmed by houseboats and Shikaras and the Mughal architectural grandeur. The summer capital of Kashmir, Srinagar is the base for exploring the Kashmir Valley which houses delightful destinations like Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Sonamarg, which also serve as the starting points for Kashmir's many trekking possibilities.

"The meadow of flowers", situated at an altitude of 2,730 m, Gulmarg was developed by the British around a meadow on the northern flank of the Pir Panjal Range. Originally called ‘Gaurimarg' by shepherds, its present name was given in the 16th century by Sultan Yusuf Shah, who was inspired by the sight of its grassy slopes emblazoned with wild flowers.
