About Islands


The islands off the coast of India offers white sandy beaches, crystal clear turquoise lagoons, and spectacular underwater gardens, hundreds of breathtaking dive sites, natural atolls and exquisite marine flora and fauna. The surrounding sea makes the islands an excellent destination for scuba diving, adventure tourism and water sports. Foreign visitors require a permit for visits and many parts of Andaman's and the whole of Nicobar are off limits to preserve their rare bio diversity and protect the six tribal groups, some of whom are fiercely independent.

Andaman and Nicobar

The islands of Andaman and Nicobar are an archipelago of 306 idyllic islands, a fantasy world of silver sands, clear blue seas, and coral reefs, swaying palms, tropical forests, volcanic mountains and a gently undulating landscape. The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are the world's last outposts of virgin rain forest islands in the Bay of Bengal.

Lakshadweep
Lakshadweep, set in the Arabian Sea, 200 kilometers off the coast of Kerala, is a cluster of islands with sun kissed beaches of endless silver and picture perfect coconut groves. Lakshadweep meaning 'A Hundred Thousand Islands' is an archipelago consisting of 36 islands, 12 atolls, 3 reefs and 5 submerged banks in the Arabian Sea.
